FRIDAY, July 20, 2012
Time to clean up your ride, as the 8th Annual Mustang Week Car Show takes over Myrtle Beach Mall (intersection of US 17 and SC 22). The 2010 show brought a sell-out crowd of 600 cars in the show and just over 4,000 spectators! The car show is open to all years of Ford Mustangs and SVT vehicles and has quickly become one of the best all-around Mustang car shows on the East Coast. Spectators and participants will have the chance to see everything from mild to wild and from classic Ponies to late models just off the lot!

Cars/trucks will be judged based on the overall cleanliness and quality of presentation. We will look at the interior of the car, the engine compartment, the body, the wheels and tires. We will not judge convertible tops or side glass since they are optioned to be down during the judging period. We will not judge trunks as well. The people who do win at the Mustang Week Car Show take cleaning serious and it shows. The Staff understands that you are not at home with all your "normal" cleaning products and procedures. BUT... each year folks drive a long way to Mustang Week and always manage to get their cars REALLY clean! In 2010, 140 trophies were awarded, so good luck!

For those that wish to enter their ride for judging at the car show, the fee is $30. Registration for that judged portion of the car show will be by pre-register only on the Mustang Week website (www.mustangweek.com) and will open in mid April. The car show will sell out online prior to the actual event, so register early to ensure you get a spot. After registration closes, there will be no late entries. Participants may choose to "display only" for $10, which will be available for online registration as well. Check-in for the show will be between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. Judging will run from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. This year we ask that all participants in the judged portion of the show please do not take your car out of the show field until the Mustang Week Staff announces that judging is completed. It would be a shame if your car may qualify for a "best of" trophy and it as not there for Staff review after initial judging is completed.

The car show awards will be presented at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 22nd in front of the Mustang Week tents and trailer. The show field is located in the southwestern corner of the mall's parking lot, adjacent to Bass Pro Shops. Participants will enter access the show field on the service road at the rear of the mall. Mustang Week Staff and volunteers will be present to help with parking.

The Mustang Week sponsors and vendors will be out in full force at the show as well. This offers participants and spectators the opportunity to talk one-on-one with industry professionals and get great deals on some of the hottest new products. 2010 sponsors and vendors included Ford Racing, 5.0 Magazine, Lethal Performance, Fastlane Motorsports, Blow By Racing, Fore Precision Works, JLT, Saleen, Inc., Mustangs Unlimited , Silverhorse Racing, Pypes, Redline Tuning, and many more! Pro-Dyno will again be on hand with their portable dyno to give you a chance to see what kind of power your car/truck can make!

We want to remind everyone that the show field does not open until 9am on Friday for the Car Show. Below is the suggested entry routes into the mall/show area. Please do NOT show up at 6:30am thinking you are going to get onto the show field early. We will NOT be ready.

Typically, folks that feel they must arrive early park on the far side of the mall to begin prepping their cars. We want to ask everyone to exercise extreme patience with us as we try to get everyone in promptly when the show field opens. We ask that you do NOT enter the show field in a roped off area (ie. lifting a rope and driving under/over). Anyone caught doing so will be asked to leave and entry fees will be forfitted.

When the show field opens, follow the directions of those helping us park cars and have your confirmation letters in hand.

Below is a map of the show field area and the place where ALL cars (judged and display) will enter.

See you all in a few weeks!!

Folks will start lining up early, that is a given. What we don't need is 100+ cars showing up 2 hours early to just sit in line. It never fails that a ton of folks show up too early while we are still trying to get sponsors/vendors settled. And it never fails that one of the early crowd sneaks onto the show field and then gets really mad when we ask them to move back out until we are ready. We really want to avoid that type of thing if possible.
