I just saw a TSB from ford. Claiming that u must only use motorcraft oil filters. If u dont it could cause engine damage. I guess the dealer i work at has already had three 3V engines be messed up. They were all using fram filters. I guess the filter material is breaking apart and getting caught up in the valve train and oil pumps. Ford warrenty will not cover the repairs if u are using a non-motorcraft filter.

I'm not familiar with that TSB, but I have always and will only use Ford Filters on all of my vehicles. I have heard from a few local old timers around here say that on some of the Ford big blocks back in the day that if they used a Fram filter the oil pressure would drop. But that is the only thing that I have ever heard about and oil filter issue with some Fords.

??/ Yeah...I've been wondering about Fram the past couple of years. I had a Fram air filter gradually come apart & went thru the intake on my Ford E-250 work van a few years ago.

Motorcraft filter for me also. I was shown a comparison (online) once and the Motorcraft outperformed most others. Can't find that comparison now. My builder once told me to use Motorcraft only so that is what I've done.

Same here I have used nothing but Motorcraft filters on all three of my Fords.
