Well i definitely plan on attending this year. I have always wanted a mustang and got a 08 GT last Feb. I have a few things done to the car and overall it looks really nice. I did not know about mustang week last year, and learned about it around feb of this year, and can't wait.

Is anyone going to be leaving from or around charleston to head up there?

I plan on staying for the whole week, and want to participate in all the events, however have never done any before, so i don't know what i need to bring to take my car on the drag strip and the autocross track. I would like to do every driving event that there is able to be done there. I have just a daily driver, street car 08 GT. I don't know if you need helmets or what to do stuff there. Also i am bringing a friend with me, and he wants to ride along and possibly bring his car and vice versa. On the autocross track do they allow ride alongs? On the drag strip?

Pretty sure they allowed ride alongs last year at Mrytle Beach speedway but I didn't go to drag night I can't answer for that. I'd bring a helment though its really the only safe way to go required or not.

I know from what I read on the posts last year you could take ride alongs at the speedway and they wanted you to bring a helmet. Im not sure about drag night though. I didn't get a chance to go to the sppedway last year but I am this year. I plan on taking my daughter with me.

Ride alongs are not permitted at Drag Night. But they are allowed and the Speedway and autocross. I reccommend to anyone who wishes to participate in Drag Night to bring a helmet, but it is not required for cars that are not running any faster that 11.60 in the qtr mile, but there were a feew cars there last year that ran faster than that with no helmet, but I personally value my safety as well as others. I really encourage everyone to participate in all of the driving events and enjoy themselves. Of course everyone has an opnion on many different things to bring to each event. But for in a nutshell all you really need are a good set of brakes and a great attitude, and enjoy yourself.

The helmet is suggested at the Wednesday's event at Myrtle Beach Speedway (fun runs around the track and autocross) but it isn't required.

They don't allow ride alongs on any drag night cars? I would be participating in the like street legal, daily driver class. I would like to make a few passes with my friend in the car just to show him it.

I thought that over a certain 1/4 mile time that you could have passengers, just under a certain time (mabye 10sec or less cars), can't have passengers i thought.

So if he rides along at myrtle beach speedway we wouldn't be required to wear a helmet on the oval track or the autocross?

On the oval track, can i do a few passes with him, drop him off, go back out?

Same with autocross?

You will get alot of runs in at the auto cross and fun runs around the speedway no problems.
