Since i have never been to Myrtle Beach, where is a good location to stay? is there a particular street that has all the events & hotels? I want to be near the action but not necessarily right on top of it. Any ideas?

As far as staying near or around the events, North Myrtle Beach is the area that you would probably want to stay at. Hotels are EVERYWHERE at Myrtle Beach, finding one isn't really hard but the closer it get to MW, fellow MW site members will deff point you and guide you in the right direction. Since the first MW my wife and I have always stayed on the strip at Myrtle Beach until last year. In the past years of staying on the strip and getting to the events can be a real challange due to the amount of traffic and trust me it is ver conjested there that time of year do to the massive amount of familes on vacation. For and example leaving the strip to attend the Meet and Greet can take up to 35min to get there which is about 13 miles give or take from the strip.
By staying with a friend last year who has a condo located at North Myrtle Beach(Litte River Inn Condos), it only took about 10-12 mins to get to the events and alot less hassle and aggervation due to alot less traffic. If you were to stay at North Myrtle Beach you would be alot closer to alot of the attractions, shoping centers, eatries. North Myrtle Beach is alittle quieter than staying on the strip. There are some members who stay where I do which is about 3 miles farther from me that stay in Cherry Grove which is a nice quite and cool place and very family friendly as well. Hope this helps, if not please feel free to ask more questions.

These are the 3 that I would reccommend and that are the closet to the events. Do you have any kids or family that will be coming to MW10 with you? The reason that I ask is that "if" you have kids that are wanting to go the beach in a short time as in walking distance/easy access it would be more benifical for you to stay on Ocean Blvd.

The Holiday Inn at Hard Rock Prkwy is out near Wacammaw on the other side of the waterway. I wouldn't suggest it if you want to be near the beach.

I stayed in N Myrtle last year. We were probably 7 miles from the mall, maybe a few more miles. But, it took us over 30 minutes to get to the mall in the traffic. I ended up cruising up to the hwy bypass(don't remember the hwy), then down Hwy22 to the mall, a lot faster, and no over heating.

I think that you "may" have been on Grissom Parkway, that road is a HUGE help when cutting down time going and coming. I hit that road everytime I can!
