So.... This will be my first time down there for mustang week. What should I expect when going down there. For those that have gone in the past for mustang week, are there a lot of punk kids running around like senior week?
There is an occasional ricer around but usually not for long!:D You'll find a more family group with a mix of all ages. Prepare to have fun and meet a lot of new friends.

I have been reading more about mustang week. I am just hoping that my boss approves my PTO so I can stay down there longer. Here in Charlotte, NC we have a ton of ricers. I find it amusing to see how they think sticker flames adds hp.

No you wont have to worry about that down there. Usually the horses travel in packs of 100+ and they keep the ricers scared away:D

I know exactly what you mean about Charlotte, but I bet Kannapolis is worse versus the city size comparison. Check out the FRIDAY NIGHT STRIP INVASION thread...its an event organized by us the participants of MW and not the MW staff and you'll definetly want to take part in it if this is your first year down!

Be prepared to have the most fun you've ever had at the beach with some of the nicest people in the most amazing mustangs!! You may be exhausted at the end of the week, but when it's over and you get home you'll be thinking about the people you met and the cars you saw for weeks!!! And I guarantee you will go home with more friends than you had when you left. And be warned, once you've been to your 1st Mustangweek, you'll never want to miss it!
BTW: we're just across the border in Rock Hill, when you leavin'?

Expect an awesome time and to use a lot of gas. You won't even care about the gas once the fun starts.

You will have an AWESOME time at Mustang Week.
We attended out first one in 2007 and have been back every year, we put our vacation requests in a year in advance!
Wait till you "cruise" the strip for the first time - leave the windows down so you can hear everyone say WOW look at that mustang.........it's funny to watch them bump into each other as they are trying to walk & gawk at the same time!
See ya at the beach!

Just be mindful of your driving habits, the police will not tolerate horseplay.

Horseplay lol but yea that's exactly right. And make sure you don't rev your motor on ocean boulevard. That's the quickest way to get pulled. By a bicycle cop...:o

That would suck!!! But at the same time, it's just toooo funny!!!!:D Cocky_GT is my son and I was behind him in the Roush when the bike cop got him last year. Now that WAS funny, for me at least. And it helped a lot that he only got a warning. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have been laughing if he had been ticketed. Ya live and learn I guess.

Yea I don't need any tickets I'm 17 so if I got a ticket insurance would be insane. First time I got pulled was MW09 for noise ordinance and the other was for an "improper start". It was raining and I spun a little when I took off from a redlight

I was down there about three weeks ago, and saw a cop riding down the strip inbetween cars looking inside every car checking to see if anyone was drinking. Sure enough he caught someone

Ha around here its more like the mufflers that have a 5 inch tip on em' and sound like there are 1,000 angry bees inside, thats what they figure adds HP.
But yeah man you will have an awesome time this is my 2nd year would have been my 3rd but ran into some problems last year, my first year in 08 was crazy! And from what I've seen it just grows every year! I don't even have all of my car together and thats not keeping me from going its just too good of a week to miss and one of the best beach trips you will ever take! But like they've said keep the Stang tamed on the strip for the most part then when you get to the track you'll be good to let it run wild (or perhaps when you find a nice back road  ).
Oh yeah +1 bout that quote forgot exactly what it said about running in packs of 100+ definitely should be on a shirt!
