Well to clear things up a little there MW does not condone street racing. And yes there are some extremely fast cars there and a few of them ARE driven on the street. I know of some people who are bring sub 10 sec street cars from 289 cubic inches to 427+ cubic inches. We put on a great show at the track. But please keep it on the track I would really hate to see MW get negative attention due to someone going to jail for street racing. I have seen those little 4.6 with the polished blowers and trust me they can SCREAM!! There is something for everyone there.

The planned activities should provide at least two opportunities to "line 'em up." More later!

And Rusty is completely correct. WE DO NOT CONDONE ANY ILLEGAL ACTIVITY ON PUBLIC STREETS OR PARKING LOTS! That is the kind of thing that will end Mustang Week in a hurry.

I am not apart of MW staff and I am on the board.:D

There are a lot of really great people on this board from all over the US.

You will always have that person at a light trying you anywhere you go be it MW or in your home town. I think the choice is yours to race or not to race. But in saying that, we ALL love MW and would not want them to get a bad name from a handful of people causing trouble. It is a family event and IMO the purpose for this show is to enjoy eachother and their cars! They have track night, so you can go prove yourself there. :)

First of all Myrtle Beach in and of itself has had a negative rep long before mustang week ever started. No matter if it was drunk rednecks on white bike week or high brothers on black bike week myrtle beach's reputation long preceeds mustang week. So to say that if someone is out racing on kings highway or pulling a burnout at colonial mall is going to give mustang week a bad rep i have to disagree. Dont get me wrong i love mustang week and have been going since the 2nd one and i really appreciate everyone that puts this thing on because it is like the mecca for mustang enthusiast. But i also know that weather its mustang week or the shrimp festival there are going to be people out there doing things that bring negative attention to themselves and the event. Lets be honest the ride to darlington or rockingham sucks i mean who wants to come to the beach then go halfway back home just to run your car when there are plenty of open roads closer by. The fact is there will be alot of fast mustangs and prob a few smarta** f-bodys that will want to show how fast they are and it will be handled on the streets.

We try our best to offer something for everyone. The dragnight should suit your need, and I think you may really enjoy Wednesday's nights events at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Just keep checking in and we'll post the particulars when it's all sorted out. We set out with the idea that we'd always try and have events that were well-rounded and covered a broad range of events. BUT, we learned very early... you can't please everyone. All we ask is that folks be safe.

I'm pretty sure that EVERYONE at some time in their life has done the stop light thing, but I'm pretty sure that someone they know or themselves have regreted it and would not do it again. But keep in mind that there are people everywhere at MW. Speaking about earing respect, I have more respect for the guy or gal sitting at the stop light that gets rev'ed at and just lets the ignorate other person go about their business. It takes the better person to keep their calm and let it be. I too myself is a hardcore headsup drag racer and can respect those who run pro. But when you see your best friend end up getting killed it changes everything. Just remember when something bad happens to you, you can not change it. I'm not trying to bash you at all but for those of us who "TRY" to keep the peace and the "Family Event" type of atmosphere we can only control so much and the rest is out of our hands. I just wanted to mention that I'm not a staff member, just a fellow Mustang Enthusiast who loves MW and the Best Show On the East Coast. I also will be proudly wearing my MW shirts and hat and etc. By the way Who's car is slow? You do your thing and we will do our's.:D

Why does it matter what we bring or if its just a 12 or 11 second 4.6? Some people would rather make theres look good then spend all the money on a trailer queen. I'm not gonna get killed or kill someone or get arrested chilling with the rest of the family event people at a car show. So good luck getting your street races. And the mustang week staff may not like me saying this, but if you are going to have a problem with everyone who is there for the show and making new friends. Then don't go. One less person trying to be stupid on the street, as we have seen in the videos seems to happen a lot at Mustang week. And don't say your not asking to Street race, what is the title of your thread and your very first post?

Everybody messes around at some point regardless of what they drive and how fast or slow it is. We're human. Just don't screw up and be the idiot on youtube that wrecks their car doing something stupid in high traffic areas and damages somebody else's car or hurts someone. That will deter a lot of good people from going if it happens year after year.

This thread is funny. I'm a Die Hard Street Racer. I'm a real Street Racer. I've won and lost alot of cash on the street, seen alot of innocent people get hurt, seen two people die, seen alot of people get arrested and have been arrested myself. I say that to say this; fstrthnu373 you're no Street Racer. We dont talk street racing. You talk about it while I live it. I'm a Street Legend on the East Coast and thats about as far as it goes. Real Street Racers dont go into unfamiliar territories and risk it all because that's what you do when you street race. You wanted to know if there are any 10 second street cars, here's my car: http://www.vettetech.com/projects/96mustang/aarons96.htm It speaks for itself. Where's yours?

The only ignorant statement i have read so far is that one. I personally know this guy and he knows more about mustangs and going fast than prob anybody on this little forum. We been going to these from the beginning and trust me we know the purpose and its not to boost the self confidence of douchebags like you.

Who gives a flying **** if you think he knows more about cars or is faster than anyone on this forum. Thats not what this forum is for. If its such a little forum, why are you here? It seems like its to boost your little self confidence or you wouldn't be here starting shit. Yeah, lets go on forums and ask if theres street racing so people think we are cool. Well guess what, its not working. original by the way on the name calling

First off, these forums are for people coming to MW to enjoy it , if you are coming to MW to street race ,then find some locals and ask them . These forums are not for this .
So ,with that said you are welcome to post on this forums ,if you are here to start trouble ,then this will get closed .

Just so you know ,there are some of us ,who knows what fast car is . Here's a vid to a 88 coupe ,that I owned and built and raced myself ,this was back in 1997, keep that in mind . This car was fast for what it was ,a stock bottom end and the ,then new at the time ,TFS heads .

Just an example of how simple your mind really is. Sorry, everyone doesn't come to MW with M/T 10.5s out back and a gallon of VHT for street racing.

Once again showing your ignorance. I guess during your previous visit to MW you failed to notice all the families and LEGAL fun going on.

Sorry MW Staff, not trying to instigate anything on the boards. This thread is just rediculous and absurd.

Just everyone go to have fun and do their own thing! I'm old enough to know that both my cars are as fast as I want them to be and it doesn't matter if anyone thinks they're slow. MW is set up for all of us to show our enthusiasm about Mustangs and share that with each other.......:D

I never asked a damn thing i was just stating a couple facts about myrtle beach in general. Then comes the ignorance talk and you running your ********. why are you here? Im here the same reason ive been here before and the same reason everyone is here to learn about events and see what all is going down the last week in july just like 4 july's previous to this one. If i offended you sorry about that i just dont like people that are prob flying to myrtle beach and renting a v6 mustang for the weekend talking about people being ignorant. Damn i liked this better when it was smaller and not full of a bunch of old farts who take the shit to damn serious. Yeah its all meant to be fun and safe but its not disney world, its still suppose to be about the cars. I dont know ill be there regardless even though i sold my car and ill enjoy every second of it racing or not.
