I normally have time to drink a half-dozen pints in the time it takes the rest of you to go back to the motel, get ready and get back to T-Bonz!

I will definitely try the Cedar Hill Landing, in Murrell's Inlet. We used to go to Dockside there each trip down, but it isn't what it used to be...

You can go to:

http://www.couponmom.com/

then go down to Pay only $6 for a $25 Restaurant.com gift certificate and find quite a few restaurants that offer the certificates in the Myrtle Beach area. You have to be fast to get the ones to Cedar Hill Landing for $6 but they do offer them.
The first time I bought one I got it directly from Restaurant.com and paid $10 for a $25 certificate which is still a good deal. We've used the certificates locally and while traveling and never had any problems.

They have REALLY good prices and are open late too. A few of us were cruising around one night after we left the strip and were looking for a place to eat around 1 am, and sure enough..the one in North Myrtle was open. You can't beat their prices, I think we paid less than $20 for 2 large pizzas, a 2 liter coke, and an order of cheesy bread. Sorry for the rant, but I really miss the one that use to be up here! LOL

Here's their two locations:
-1601 S Kings Hwy
MYRTLE BEACH SC 29577

-4005 Hwy 17 S
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH SC 29582

Sounds like fun, there should still be a nice amount of snow left on Friday for you guys to have fun in. I've been riding my 4x4 350 Honda Rancher all morning, unfortunately with a plow in front of it. LOL I can't wait for it to get warmer up here, we have 500+ acres of orchard land behind our home that have excellent trails, a few mud pits, etc....it's a lot of fun!

It sounds like a lot of Fun. We have a large group of any where from 20-30 that go up 2-3 times a year. I REALLY HOPE that there is snow left. i love riding in the snow. I bought a Foremam 500 2 years ago and have been modding it left and right.:D Man 500 acres you can do some seroius riding. We usually ride about 80-100 miles through the Wagon Wheel area. I love it.:D

Every year I wait for these places to eat at.
BREAKFAST: K&W cheep! & Akels Family Restaurant 6429 North Kings Highway plus Hot Stacks Restaurant 1501 North Kings Highway
LUNCH: We very rarely eat lunch due to the BIG breakfasts we have.
DINNER: O-ya! We always eat at the #1 place for "RIBS" Thorny's 600 South Kings Highway.
If you want Steak there is only two places in my book:
1.) "Angelo's" 2011 S Kings Hwy, I know it's an Italian restaurant but the Sizzling Stakes are to die for.
2.) The best kept secret & I'm only letting "MUSTANG" people know this because we are all one "Chuck's Steakhouse" 9695 North Kings Highway S-H-H don't tell anyone.
PARTYING: Dicks Last Resort,Barefoot Landing 4700 Hwy 17 South the food is ho-hum but the atmosphere is PARTY!!

This can be very useful to those never attending MW previously. A guide if you will where we know good food dining can be found. So far we have breakfast, lunch and dinner suggestions. I'm sure there are many not discovered yet. Those who live in the area, any new places? Not new but when we can get in the original Calabash Restaurant in Calabash, N.C. is a good place to eat. They have a fresh catch dock area where fishermen sell their catches. Always crowded though. Later Charles

Its lunch time now & if I was at the beach I would go to Broadway & hit Johnny Rockets.

There is also a Johnny Rockets' at Barefoot Landing,
Just up the road (North) from Colonial Mall.
It's on the West side, hidden from the highway (kinda' behind Jackalope Steak House)
with LOTS of parking. See: MAP (http://maps.yahoo.com/#tp=1&tt=johnny%20rocket&mvt=m&trf=0&lon=-78.74279&lat=33.798835&mag=7).

I can't go to MB without a trip to CHUCK's. :p I know it's been listed above, but it beats all to heck out ot the chains. Almost always immediate seating (except, maybe, on Friday/Sat night at high time). Nice bar, nice casual dining, great steaks. Cheaper than some. The restaurant at the original Calabash in Calabash, NC is the closest I've found. The one next to where the Charter Boat ,The Hurricane, runs out of. It is old fashioned country big time. They make their own hush puppies and you get a lot of food at great prices. They do not serve alcoholic beverages but the tea is great!

Tony's Pizza in Calabash.

Crabby Oddwaters in Sunset Beach. Hwy 179 toward sunset beach. Instead of turning right to go across the swinging bride to sunset beach you turn left. the resteraunt is on the right upstairs from the seafood market.

OK I'm gonna try this again (and not time out this time! lol)
Here's a list I've compiled of my friends and family's (all locals) favorite restaurants down here.

Rioz Brazilian Grill (Behind Club Kryptonite & Planet Hollywood) A few of the guys from our club have been and they say bring your appetite. Rioz specializes in meats such as chicken, beef and lamb that are roasted over a large charcoal grill. http://www.rioz.com/

Nibbles at the Pier in Surfside Beach - I've had breakfast and lunch here and it's been great. Very friendly personal service. I've heard their prime rib at dinner is great too! http://www.mrnibils.com/

Flamingo Grill in North Myrtle Beach - (17 Business 3 Miles North of BROADWAY AT THE BEACH) Great seafood and large portions. And the peach martini is awesome! ;) http://flamingogrill.com/

Prossers Bar-B-Q Country Cookin' Buffet (17 Business in Murrells Inlet) This is one of my husband's favorites. He loves the chicken bog here.

Russells Seafood Grill (17 Business Murrells Inlet) One of our good friends RAVES about their shrimp and grits plate (I personally have never had it)

Dead Dog Saloon (Murrells Inlet 17 Business) This is personally my favorite. I love the atmosphere, the food (Sammy's smothered chicken mmmm.....), the drinks, the live entertainment, the view... just everything about it! http://www.deaddogsaloon.com/

Creek Ratz - (17 Business Murrells Inlet next to Dead Dog) Another awesome laid back casual place to eat on the inlet. Stuffed mushrooms, Sweet tea, Grouper basket, Reubens..... great food! They also have live entertainment and a room for the kids to play and write on the chalkboard walls while waiting. http://www.creekratz.com/

River City Cafe - many locations! Best burgers around! Philly Chicken, BBQ Bacon Burger so many to choose from! http://www.rivercitycafe.com/

Bubba's Fish Shack - (17 Business Surfside Beach) My kids favorite! Write on the walls or table coverings while you wait! lol I love the White Trash Salad, my husband always gets the Grouper basket and the kids get Shrimp baskets or Grilled Cheeses. http://www.bubbasfishshack.com/

The Sandlot Grill in Garden City on 17 Business had great food, atmosphere (sports bar & grill, pool tables etc), lots of parking and a huge patio area to eat outside! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=366375546

Miyabi Kyoto Steakhouse (17 Bypass Murrells Inlet) They put on a great show while they are cooking your meal right in front of you!

The new restaurants to the area are Red Robin in front of Sears at the Coastal Grand Mall http://www.redrobin.com/home/menu.aspx and there are quite a few restaurants at the new Market Commons on the old Air Force Bace. Cold Stone Creamery, Divine Prime (reservations recommended), Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant http://www.gordonbiersch.com/restaurants/, P.F Chang's China Bistro http://www.pfchangs.com/, Roy & Sid's American Kitchen, Tommy Bahama's Tropical Cafe' , Travinia Italian Kitchen http://www.traviniaitaliankitchen.com/main2.htm, and Ultimate California Pizza http://www.ultimatecaliforniapizza.com/ are all there, not to mention the GREAT shopping!

You may also want to check out this website for the reviews of Myrtle Beach area restaurants http://www.myrtlebeachscrestaurants.com/ and this is the link to our newspapers section that has the "Best of the Beach"

Here's where we actually ate this year:

* Hungry Howie's delivery twice.... awesome both times, as ALWAYS!
* Miyabi @ Murrell's Inlet... excellent as always! Our chef put on a bit boring show compared to others we've had in the past, but the food was excellent. Got the Filet & shrimp and it was sooo good.
* Dick's Last Resort... along with Miyabi, this place is a yearly tradition for us. We just go for the good time & fun there, so if the food is good that's just extra. I got the Ribeye and it was perfect.
* J. Edwards... now let me make this clear... this was THE BEST steak I have EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. In years past, Thorny's was part of our yearly restaurant trek, but we decided to try a new place... so we tried J. Edwards on Rt. 17; it's somewhere around 21 Ave S.? This place has evidently been there for a long time, so it's not very crowded since most people like to go to the "new" places. But let me tell you guys, you MUST put them on your list for next year. I got their Ribeye with cajun seasoning and I wish I could eat that every day of my life! They say it was 16 oz, but it was way bigger than that. I'll say it again, BEST steak I've ever eaten.
* Hooter's @ Murrell's Inlet. cold beer, and hot waitresses so it couldn't be bad. I just got chicken strips, so you can't mess that up. We just wanted a quickie bite to eat before the Friday night cruise, and it hit the spot!

Every place we ate this year was GREAT.

Calabash, N.C. is a great place to eat. Price is right, lots of quality food and fun to walk out on the piers and look at the fresh catch seafood for sale. Interesting place. We eat there every year. My family used to go there when I was Wesley's age..

My dad and step-mom live near Myrtle Beach, so I like to go to Sea Captain's House. They have the best fried scallops! They are located next door to The Jamaican hotel on Ocean Blvd. For Mexican, I'd try El Burro Loco. It's located near Broadway at the Beach. The food is really yummy! If it's your birthday, they'll come out, put a big sombrero on your head, and make you sit on a wooden donkey while they sing to you. Or at least that's what happened to me....maybe it was just an evil plot by my folks to embarrass me on my 38th birthday....hmmmmm:D

My biggest problem is that I'm not looking for Calabash-style fried seafood. Don't get me wrong because I love it but I can get that pretty much anywhere in southeastern NC (if you know where to look). I'm looking for the plate of pan-seared grouper or blackend mahi. I would love to find a place that has good (and I mean good) shrimp and grits. The search goes on.......

Umberto's at Coquina harbor in Little River is a great for Italian food. The restaurant overlooks several yacht clubs (Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, Lightkeepers Yacht Club-where I have my boat, and Lightkeepers Point). Crab Catchers is a nice seafood restaurant in Little River overlooking the intercoastal waterway. You can eat on the deck which is over the water.

I would also like to add to the list, one of my favorite places is The Chesapeake House, right on Highway 17 N, a few buildings up past the Myrtle Beach Mall (where the shows held) right after the Bypass heading towards Myrtle. It's family owned, and they are proudly serving for their 40th season. I loved it so much I started working there and have been with them for 3 years now. It's a friendly family environment, casual atmosphere and absolutely amazing food and hushpuppies and cinnomon rolls with the meals, its excellent, and we have alligators in our lake to help the wait time go bye, as it's summer and a very strong following of generations of families :)

I highly recommend a visit while you're in town, very awesome!!!! And if you do stop in, I'm Heather one of the hostesses *and Mstang enthusiast* and I look forward to seeing you all during the week!!!

Yes, we still have the gators, and the banner is true, well at least that's what was voted :) Our local newspaper/news through a contest a couple months ago to coincide with the college basketball tournaments, where they took Seafood restaraunts from Calabash to Georgetown, put two vs two every week, and locals voted for their favorites each week till it was down to the last too, and we won, up against our sister restaruant Lee's Inlet Kitchen (also in the family) so it was a good finish for us.

It's very worth the summer wait you come up against lol, and Donna, we still have the amazing hushpuppies, but we've got honey butter to go with them now too :D!!!!

But I look forward to seeing you guys this week, if you stop by the restaurant, can't wait to see you, if I'm not off for the day and out playing with the other ponies !!!! This week is gonna be awesome!!!

River City Cafe, at Barefoot Landing, is a great place to eat. It's not fancy, but the burgers and spicy chicken sandwiches are awesome. Grab some peanuts, throw the shells on the floor and enjoy the game on the tube... or sit out on the deck overlooking the waterway.

If you're looking for a nicer, quieter place, consider Myabi. It's a Japanese Steakhouse on the north end - just down from MB Mall and Wally-world. Make sure you call for reservations today or tomorrow - bc they'll be full by Thursday.

If you have any questions, I'm local and I'll try to help.
God bless!
