Thanks man, yes I was also at the MB Speedway. I wish I would have just ran my street tires at the speedway and did the autocross. The stop light drags were stupid and nobody could get traction.

Yeah that is why I didnt run the Speedway drags. They started it up last year for locals and it was fun the first time, but after that they jacked the prices way up and it wasnt too much fun. No traction at all, no timing equipment...
But it still looked fun.
My best time at Darlington was a pathetic 13.9 at 100mph. I had tune issues when I ran that, I think it has 13.4's or so in it as is.

100mph in 13.9 is pretty good.
I wonder what times I would have got?
Congrats anyways Ryan

I am a licensed driver with the IHRA. I take my racing very seriously. Safetly regulations are in place for a reason and I completely respect the rules set forth by IHRA.
I was completely blown away that the tech guy didn't even know why I was handing him my annual tech paperwork when it was my turn for my car to be teched in. I could have strapped a jet engine under my hood and he wouldn't have given my car a second glance. I was even more shocked to see them letting convertables go down the track with the roof down and no helmet. What were they thinking??? Do they not realize that they are jeopardizing their IHRA sanctioning by allowing stuff like this to go on?
A big thumbs down to Darlington Raceway. No track prep, and come to find out after I made a pass that they only treat the 1/8 mile because that's all they usually run there??? Are they freakin nuts??? I saw that 8 sec turbo car get loose just after the 1/8th, just after I ran. I refused to make another pass after that. It wasn't worth risking my car. I was really disappointed after driving for 2hrs to get there that this was all the track had to offer.
I hope that next year MW finds a better track for our drag night.

i didnt think u had to wear a helmet usless you ran under a certain time. Not to be a dick. But its a fun night. Not some pro drag night. Ill take my chances without a helmet. my Gt isnt a drag car. a helmet just makes it harder to race, my head wacks the ceiling with it on. seat belts and air bag are good enough for me. Plus its the south people are very easy going and tend to let more stuff slide.

We were with Robbie, the white KBed '06 GT. I can't believe you said your car needed the driver mod...1.8 short times on street tires is nice!!! You're a hell of a driver!

Gregs car seem to go down the track well. It made 4 8 sec. passes in a row. The best pass was a 8.47 at 163. The guys with the turbo car didn't seem to have the car figured out yet.

I was much more impressed with track preparation that any year prior to this one. The track seemed to hook well and some fast times were run. The track owner has lots of "ideas" to make this a better event and we are willing to work with him if he still shows the interest he did before we left last Thursday evening. The turnout was good and I think folks enjoyed themselves.

My car wouldnt hook either and it only runs low 13's, I was spinning in second gear with drag radials, Wasnt sure if it was the track prep or the Nitto's just suck, I didnt see or smell any VHT at all though

I kinda have to agree with awwyea on some of the issues....There were a few things that were questionable, and really not safe....What would happen If my high 10 sec GT got loose and hit one of those verts, with the driver not having a helment on???? I'm am sure the airbag would not have helped you much there....I am glad everybody had a great time, and I am in no place to tell anybody how to run their track,I was in my firejacket and had all my safety equipment in place....Not complaining,as I always enjoy Drag night....and yes I do make the trip EVERY year.....The track could have been prepped a bit better, but I was not expecting much with temps like they were.....Trust me you are not gonna hook to well on a 120-130 degree track,I dont care what kinda prep its got.....Oh and for those doubting the turbo car from Fastlane...Had he not drug the bumper laster in the evening...That would have been your fastes pass of that event:D

The MPS boys still had some et left in it as well as more boost. But like you said the track wasn't hooking good after the 1/8 mile mark.

Those were the 1st 1/4mile passes we've made with it. And yes it has a lot more in it. There was no need to put the car in kill mode because Chuck was having issues getting the car woed up with no shoot on it and it was a little harry on the top end with no spoiler. The track was hooking great for us and I did see the track guys spray vht several times and they powdered the line at least twice. I would have liked to seen the fastlane guys make a good solid pass.
