Kick off Mustang Week Texas in style at Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier Parking Lot next to Fish Tales Restaurant on the Galveston Seawall! This free, Mustang Week event is the perfect place to connect with fellow Mustang enthusiasts, enjoy great music, and check out an incredible lineup of Mustangs in a relaxed, social atmosphere.

The Mustang Week team will be onsite with official event merchandise—a great chance to grab your gear early—and VIP package pickup will be available for registered participants. Come for the cars, stay for the music, food, and community vibes that make Mustang Week special.

Note: While the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier will not be open on the night of the party, it is open on Friday-Sunday every weekend so plan to check it out while in town!

Houston Motorsports Park (HMP)

Fire up your Ford and head to Houston Motorsports Park for an all-day Mustang experience. Drag Day combines drag racing, HMP oval track action, and drifting ride-alongs for one unforgettable day of Mustang Week Texas.

Event Highlights:

Drag Racing:

• Open Test & Tune – Make as many drag passes as you can handle.
• Grudge Racing – Call out your friends and settle it on the strip.
• True Street Class – Take a 30-mile cruise, then return for three back-to-back runs on the .400 Pro Tree.

Oval Track / Spectator Drags:

• Oval Fun Runs – Experience the HMP oval at your own pace.
• Pizza & Beer Class – Test, parade laps, and eliminations. Winner takes home bragging rights plus a 12-pack of beer and two pizzas!

Drifting Ride-Alongs:

• Feel the adrenaline as pro drivers take you sideways on the HMP oval. Sign-ups available onsite.

Mustang Week All-Ford Meet-Up, Presented by LMR

If it’s got a blue oval on the nose or Ford power under the hood, it belongs here. We’re talking everything from vintage and resto-mods to Fox Body, SN95, New Edge to the latest S650s, plus F150s, Explorers, and anything with the blue oval. All—rolling in deep for one massive Ford takeover.

The smell of tire smoke will be in the air with drifting exhibitions tearing up the pad and a Street Burnout Contest where anyone with a real street Ford can light ‘em up and show no mercy and earn themselves $750 to Win, $250 runner up! Add a fleet of food trucks, cold drinks, and vendors selling parts and merch, and you’ve got a blue oval party. Bring your Ford and bring your friends, and plan to stay ‘til the last bit of smoke clears.

Official Mustang Week Texas Car Show Presented by LMR

Noon – The World’s Biggest Mustang Show

Everything’s bigger in Texas, and this is no exception—the Official Mustang Week Texas Car Show is bringing over 1,000 of the most awesome Mustangs on the planet to one place.

Cruise the show, hit the vendor midway for the latest products and exclusive deals, watch Mustang drift drivers in action, and grab some eats from the food trucks. Then at 5:00 PM, stick around for the Mustang Car Show Awards Ceremony to see who takes home the glory.

6:00 PM – Mustang Week Mayhem

When the sun drops, the volume cranks up. The pad comes alive with the epic drifting show, FMX Stunts and an all-out Smoke Show: Ford vs. The World, Presented by Summit Racing with it’s $15,000 prize purse on the line (1st – $10K, 2nd – $4K, 3rd – $1K). Any make and any model can take on the best the Ford’s have to offer. Music, lights, and non-stop action keep the energy pumping, while vendors stay open late so you can score parts, merch, and gear. As the smoke clears, the night closes with a fireworks grand finale that’ll light up the Galveston sky.
