Mustang Week is the largest Mustang gathering in the world, a week-long celebration of Ford performance, community, and everything that makes these cars special. This year the North Carolina-based event runs August 24–29, 2026. It hosts events spread across some of the finest motorsports facilities in the country, including zMAX Dragway and Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. It’s going to be one of the biggest lineups Mustang Week has ever assembled.
And a major part of the charge? Sideways action.
Drifting at Mustang Week Charlotte Presented by JEGS
Drifting has always had a place at Mustang Week going back over a decade, but this year we’re taking it to another level. This year’s drift program is built around one thing: putting some of the best Mustang drivers in the country in front of the fans who love these cars most.
Drift action takes place Friday and Saturday, August 28-29 at zMAX Dragway. Catch exhibition runs all day long, with a Drift Battle hosted by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Ben Hobson taking place place on Friday evening.
Ride-alongs will be available, giving attendees the chance to experience the action firsthand from the passenger seat. Be sure to stop by your favorite driver’s display to find out how to get in their drift car!
The driver lineup pulls from all corners of the country. Professional-level talent mixes with some of the country’s most exciting up-and-coming drivers. Whether they’re competing on professional circuits or building their name in the regional scene, every driver on this list knows how to put on a show.
The Headliners: Vaughn Gittin Jr. & Ben Hobson
No conversation about Mustang drifting starts anywhere but here.
Vaughn Gittin Jr. is one of the most recognized names in all of drifting. A Formula Drift champion and the founder of RTR Vehicles — headquartered right here in the Charlotte -Concord area. Vaughn has spent his career proving what a Mustang can do at the absolute limit. Having him back on home turf, in front of a crowd of fellow Ford enthusiasts, is going to be something else entirely.
Ben Hobson is one of Formula Drift’s most exciting competitors, and a driver who has claimed a FD PROspec Championship. Together, Vaughn and Ben will be piloting their Mustang RTR Spec 5-D’s pushing over 1,000 horsepower, something you won’t want to miss.

Joining Vaughn and Ben is a deep roster of talented drivers from across the country. A mix of professional team drivers, regional competitors, and rising names who have earned their spot on this list:
From the Shelby Drift Team, Jonathan Nerren, Cameron Griffin, Michael Furino, and Justin Baur will be making an appearance.
And we’ll also be joined by the likes of Adam Heishman, Jamey Meyer, Chris Hill, Chad Anderson, Hunter Thompson, Matthew Glasscock, Trevor Johnstone, Kevin Tunstall, Issac Godinez, Sam Seyfert, Davey Peeples, Tyler Krebs, and Bryan Brewington, and Shane Davis.
This group represents some of the best Mustang driving talent in the country, and every single one of them will be out there doing what they do best — for the love of it.
