Mustang Cup USA Partners with Mustang Week Texas and Charlotte

Mustang Week is proud to officially announce that Mustang Cup USA is partnering with us for both Mustang Week Texas and Mustang Week Charlotte.

This is a major addition for road racing fans, track-day drivers, and anyone who has ever wondered what the next step looks like inside the Ford Racing pyramid.

What Is Mustang Cup?

Mustang Cup USA is a USAC-sanctioned, single-make Mustang road racing series built around the Mustang Dark Horse R. It is designed to be the true entry point into professional Mustang road racing and serves as a key stepping stone within the Ford Racing motorsports ladder.

In 2026, the series is expanding with the introduction of Mustang Cup Classic, welcoming select modern-era race Mustangs including:

  • 2005–2010 FR500C
  • 2008 FR500S
  • 2011–2014 Boss 302R
  • 2012–2014 Boss 302S
  • 2017 FP350S

Together, these cars represent two decades of Ford road racing heritage and create a competitive, accessible platform for drivers looking to compete at a high level.

Mustang Cup sits below Mustang Challenge, GT4, and GT3 in the Ford Racing pyramid, giving drivers a clear path of progression.

What You’ll Experience at Mustang Week

At both Texas and Charlotte, fans will experience:

  • Mustang Dark Horse R race cars on display
  • Mustang Cup Classic race cars
  • GT4, GT3, and GTD Mustangs
  • Podium-winning drivers including Kale Burhl, Andrew Hords, Craig Capaldi, and Leo Capaldi
  • Demo sessions and on-track exhibitions
  • Driver Q&A sessions and fan meet-and-greets
  • Photo opportunities and media access

This is a rare opportunity to get up close to professional-level road race Mustangs and meet the drivers who compete in them.

If you’ve ever wanted to ask what it takes to make the jump from HPDE or club racing into professional competition, this is your chance.

Why This Matters for Mustang Enthusiasts

Mustang Week brings together one of the largest concentrations of passionate Mustang owners in the country. From show cars to drag cars to track builds, our audience represents every corner of the Mustang community.

Mustang Cup is the entry point. It is the most accessible step into professional Mustang road racing and the natural progression for:

  • Track-day and HPDE drivers
  • Autocross competitors
  • Regional club racers
  • Dark Horse and higher-performance Mustang owners
  • Younger drivers stepping into pro racing
  • Experienced racers looking for competitive, equal machinery

Mustang Cup is focused on progression, accessibility, and creating a laid-back, family-style paddock environment while maintaining professional standards.

Mustang Cup will be woven throughout the entire week at both events, giving fans multiple chances to see the cars and connect with the drivers.

At Mustang Week Texas, April 14–18, you’ll experience Mustang Cup from the very first kickoff event through track day activations, drag day appearances, and into the heart of the main show. Whether you’re at MSR Houston, HMP, or walking the show field, these cars and drivers won’t be tucked away. They’ll be part of the action all week long.

Then in Charlotte, August 24–29, the experience continues with karting events, ROVAL track day participation, demo sessions, and full main show activations. If you’ve ever wanted to see professional-level Mustangs up close and talk directly with the drivers who compete in them, this will be one of the best opportunities all year to do it.
