The Mustang Week Texas Dyno Challenge is the ultimate test of horsepower for Ford-powered enthusiasts. This competition is more about power than looks on the show field – giving you the chance to see how your Mustang stacks up against the best. There are two classes—Power Adder and All Motor.

Each car gets three runs on the dyno, with the highest single horsepower pull determining the standings. The top 10 vehicles—five from each class—will be showcased on the leaderboard, with winners earning a cash purse, a trophy, and recognition among Mustang fans. Second and third place in each class will also receive trophies.

This is a street-focused competition, so all vehicles must be Ford-powered, registered, and running on radial tires. Whether you’re all motor, supercharged, nitrous, or turbo, this is your chance to see how much horsepower your Mustang Makes.

Classes and Prizes

  1. Power Adder
    • $500 cash prize for the winner, plus a trophy.
    • Trophies for 2nd and 3rd place.
  2. All Motor
    • $500 cash prize for the winner, plus a trophy.
    • Trophies for 2nd and 3rd place.

Winners will be announced at Saturday’s Awards Ceremony

Eligibility

  1. Only Ford-powered vehicles are eligible to compete.
  2. To compete in the Power Adder or All Motor classes, vehicles must have:
    • Current, valid registration
    • A Ford engine
  3. Vehicle must be equipped with radial-type tires.
  4. All vehicles must comply with Tuning Safety Rules and Regulations to participate.

Competition Rules

  1. Each vehicle is allowed 3 runs maximum on the dyno.
  2. No tuning adjustments are permitted between runs.
  3. Cooldown between runs is allowed, but no refueling, ice addition, or other performance modifications are permitted between runs.
  4. Cooldown will be between 3 and 7 minutes as directed by staff.
  5. Any competitor suspected of violating rules will be subject to immediate disqualification at the discretion of staff.

Safety and Conduct

  1. Drivers must follow all instructions from staff and event organizers.
  2. Safety protocols outlined by staff must be strictly adhered to.
  3. Any unsafe behavior, reckless conduct, or tampering with equipment will result in disqualification and removal from the event.

Vehicle Specifications

  1. All vehicles must run on pump gas, race fuel, or E85.
  2. Vehicles must operate on a chassis dyno in a manner deemed safe by staff.
  3. Tires must be in good condition and free of damage.

Registration and Fees

  1. Register on MustangWeek.com. Entry fees are non-refundable.
  2. Each participant must have a Mustang Week ticket to gain admission to the event.
  3. Registration closes once all available slots are filled.

Event Format

  1. Competitors will be assigned a competition day and time slot on Friday or Saturday.
    • Friday – Noon to 8 pm
    • Saturday – Noon to 6 pm
  2. Check in on the day of the event to confirm.
  3. Each vehicle will have a designated window of time to complete their 3 runs.
  4. The best result from the 3 runs will be used for scoring purposes.
  5. Power output will be measured at the wheels.
  6. Winners will be determined based on the highest single horsepower dyno pull in their class.
  7. The event leaderboard will be updated by Staff, showing the top 5 performers in each class.
  8. Awards will be presented during Mustang Week Awards Ceremony on Saturday.

Additional Notes

  1. Dyno pulls will be conducted at Staff’s discretion to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  2. Any disputes regarding results or rules will be resolved by Staff. All decisions are final.
  3. Staff reserves the right to modify rules or procedures if necessary.
